Help

Who can be an owner?
Individuals of any age can set up a Sole Proprietorship. Nevertheless, to open a business bank account or sign legal agreements for business transactions, a certain minimum age may be necessary. At present, there are no citizenship or residency requirements to register a sole proprietorship in Ontario.
Can the owner and business have different address?
Certainly. The owner can have an address in any location, but the business registration address must be confined to the specific province where it is registered.

Why company key is REQUIRED?
Your Company Key is the sole method for updating your profile with the government. It safeguards the business profile from unauthorized access. Submitting incorrect documents may lead to delays and extra fees. If you lack an Ontario Company Key, please return to the previous page and select the option indicating that you do not have the company key.
Why original statement of registration is REQUIRED?
To renew your registration, you need to provide an original statement of registration to maintain transparency, comply with legal standards, and establish a public record of important details. Submitting the wrong documents could result in delays and additional charges. If you don’t possess this document, our registry agent can request it through the government system for an extra fee.
