  • How fast can I get documents?
    A sole proprietorship can be set up within a single business hour when placed in the quickest queue. Provided we have received a fully completed order, including payment and necessary information, and you have selected the speediest queue, our team will examine your order, register it through government Registry system, and send you the electronic documents via email within one business hour. The last submission time is 3:00 PM local time.
  • What documents I will get?
    You will receive final business registration statement with business registration number (BIN). Afterwards, other services such as GST/HST account, CRA business number etc. will be emailed.
  • How should I receive final documents?
    Eligible documents will be sent through email. Furthermore, sensitive materials such as your corporate supplies, CRA program accounts, and other pertinent documents will be dispatched via postal service.

  • What is official corporate seal?
    An official corporate seal is an embossed seal used for the protection of the business against fraudulent activities. It has legal value in preventing fake representation of your business. Traditionally, corporate seals are used on contracts, share certificates, bank documents, land titles etc. It's highly recommended if your company has frequent transactions or provide receipts, invoices and other documentations such as loan contract, mortgage application, employment contract, service contract or any sub-contract.   • Why PST account is required?
    Registering for BC PST allows your business to legally operate within the British Columbia tax system. This unique number, which is 11 characters long and follows the PST-1234-5678 format, monitors your business within the system, including tax payments and credits, as well as the tax charged to customers. If a business sells taxable goods, software, or services in or imported into B.C., the business is required to collect PST on behalf of the BC Government.

    This pertains to the registration with WorkSafe BC. In case your business intends to hire employees presently or later on, it MUST register with WSBC. We'll handle the registration process, supply you with the account number and liaison with the WSBC authority. It's important to highlight that there are no monthly premium charges; instead, the WSBC authority will provide guidance on your qualification for a fee-less program or applicable charges.
  • What is a GST/HST account?
    Should your business offer goods or services in Canada, you are mandated by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to collect the Goods and Service Tax (GST) from your customers on behalf of the CRA. A GST/HST account number, which is a combination of your nine-digit business number ending with RT 0001, must be clearly indicated on your customer's invoice or receipt. This alphanumeric code is necessary to comply with these tax regulations.

    A payroll account with the CRA is a unique 15-digit identifier, which also includes a nine-digit business number (BN). It's often referred to as an RP 0001 number. This account enables businesses to get access to key data such as GST and HST tax returns, payroll deductions, excise taxes, and corporate income taxes, among other things. If you employ people, including yourself, a Payroll Account Number is necessary to process the salary through the payroll deductions. This is also used to utilize the benefit "income splitting" for the business.

  • What is business activity type?
    A business can sell to its customer services or goods or both. Services examples are professional and technical services, consultancy, recreation, arts and entertainment, social assistance etc.
  • What activities should I write?
    Write your primary and most important business activity (only one). Be specific and avoid general description to avoid delays. Make it short and straight to the point to expediate the process.
  • Why printed copy costs more?
    Once we register, the Government sends us the electronic documents in email. Hence, we can send you the electronic documents without any additional cost. Sending it by postal service involves additional services such as printing, handling and shipping.
  • Name Approval

  • The British Columbia Government permits the submission of three names in one application. A government official reviews these names according to the order of preference. If the primary choice is unaccepted for any reason, the remaining two names are assessed without needing extra payment. Thus, it is advised to include two extra preferred names to get the most value for your money.

  • What is a name approval document?
    Securing a name approval from the BC government is the initial move in registering a sole proprietorship. The proposed name has to be pre-approved by the BC Registry specific to the business type, in this case being a sole proprietorship. If you've already procured it independently, there's an option to upload it. Should you have not yet received it, we can apply on your behalf and secure the pre-approval documentation for you.
  • Business Address

  • To register a business in this province, a local provincial physical address is required where the government will send documents. If you do not have a physical address in this province, our agency provides address and mail scanning service.

  • Can I change email address later?
    Yes, you can. If you do not have an official business email address yet, you can use a Gmail or Hotmail address here. Once your business is registered and you have an official domain name and email address, you can update this through our website.
  • What is principal place of business?
    It is the location where business is located. It can be a commercial rented place or home address. It can't be a P.O Box, must be a physical address. CRA documents will go to this address.
  • Can I change principal place of business later?
    Yes, it can be changed later. In many cases when commercial place is not rented yet, residential address is given. Once you rent a commercial place, you can update the address through our website.
  • Do you provide address service?
    If you do not have a local provincial address, we provide registered address and mail scanning service. Please click, on the form where says, "If you don't have address in this province, click here"
  • Is the address service renewable?
    Yes, you have the choice to renew it on an annual basis. Normally, the price remains same.

    Anyone (no age restrictions) can register a Sole Proprietorship. However, opening a bank account for the business or signing any legal contract for the transactions of the business may require a minimum age. Currently there is no citizenship or residency requirement to register a sole proprietorship in Ontario
  • Owner must be a natural person
    This product is applicable to register or renew a sole proprietorship that has a single individual owner (previously known as Master Business Licence).
